Apologies to all for the lack of recent updates. A trip to the RT Convention was immediately followed by surgery on my shoulder (and let me tell you, the recuperation for that has been much worse than I expected. It must be partly to do with my age. The body just doesn’t bounce back like it used to… sigh). About the time I got some movement back, my deadline was approaching quickly and I had to go head-down into the WIP.
I’m just now coming up for air.
Thanks to everyone for your support of When Honey Got Married… The reviews have been fantastic, and we’re all so glad you’ve enjoyed meeting the gang from Bellefleur. You might want to pop over and “Like” Honey’s page on Facebook — something’s brewing (but I’m sworn to secrecy for now), but it’ll be announced on Honey’s page soon!
And while we’re on the subject of weddings… “The Wedding Season” starts now! This is the very first KISS continuity and features books by Aimee Carson, Amy Andrews, Heidi Rice and myself and we kick it all off in June with a free prequel novella available for download. “The Wedding Season” has it’s own Facebook page, too, and there will be fun stuff going on all summer.
My contribution to the continuity is Last Groom Standing, out in October. And check out this cover!
And yes, my shoulder is much better now. Thanks for asking. 🙂

Just a few short weeks until everyone can find out exactly what happened When Honey Got Married…
You are cordially invited to the Louisiana wedding of the decade. On a beautiful spring evening, on the grounds of the Belles Fleurs Plantation, Honey Moreau will marry eminently eligible Brent Delacroix.
Love will be in the air…can anyone resist?
I’m so excited about this anthology — and I got to write it with the amazing Anna Cleary, Kelly Hunter and Ally Blake, fabulous women and amazing writers. They’re also a ridiculous amount of fun, so writing Grace and Beau’s story (and giving my opinions on Honey’s, Eve’s, Pippa’s and Nina’s) was just a blast from beginning to end.
You can visit our website www.WhenHoneyGotMarried.com and like us on Facebook to keep up with the latest news on Honey, including contests, our blog tour, and fun facts about Honey and her friends (and of course, complete buy information as soon as it’s available).

Today is the day! KISS is finally and officially out! I’ve been waiting for this forever, it seems.
The Downfall of a Good Girl (along with The One That Got Away by Kelly Hunter, How to Get Over Your Ex by Nikki Logan, and Hitched! by Jessica Hart,) should be available everywhere today. If you see it on a shelf, snap a picture and send it to me. I love seeing my books in the wild!
And if you don’t already know the Really Cool Thing about this book, be sure to read all about it here and here.
And to celebrate, I’m running a contest. One grand prize winner will receive autographed copies of Downfall of a Good Girl and Taming of a Wild Child, along with the CD by Cristina Lynn, plus a selection of New Orleans goodies. To enter, send an email to Kimberly@booksbykimberly.com with “Big KISS” in the subject line and include your name and shipping address. Contest runs through March 31 and winners will be notified shortly thereafter.
*Due to shipping and customs restrictions, this prize is only available to US residents. Non-US residents may enter, and if their name is chosen, they will win a gift certificate to the online bookstore of their choice in an amount equivalent to US $30 instead.

I’ve been sitting on this news FOREVER and now it’s finally time to share!
The Downfall of a Good Girl and The Taming of a Wild Child aren’t just two of my favorite books that just happen to be launch titles for the new Harlequin KISS line.
Downfall and Taming have their own soundtrack. Which is just really, really cool.
Once I knew Downfall’s hero, Connor, was a singer/songwriter, I knew he’d need songs to sing — that’s how he’d be comfortable expressing himself. So I went to work with a local singer/songwriter (and former Kindergarten co-Room Mother for our kids) Cristina Lynn to put a song on Connor’s lips. Cristina not only let me use four of her original songs in the books, she wrote a new song inspired by Vivi and Connor, too!
All five songs — now a collection called “Sinners and Saints” — will be available for purchase/download later this month!
(For more info on our collaboration, click here.)
We’re taking our show on the road, too, with what we call a “Sing and Sign,*” to talk about the books, the music, and the process. (And what it’s like to be a working artist and Mom at the same time. We’re not your average soccer moms, that’s for sure!) Want us to come to your library, bookstore, coffee shop, etc? Just drop me a line at kimberly @ booksbykimberly.com and we’ll see what we can set up.I can’t tell you how much fun I’ve had working with Cristina on this project. It helped that we were friends already and working with a friend is fun, but working with a storyteller in a different medium has been enlightening and inspiring!
Pretty cool, huh?
*Just to be clear: Cristina does all the singing. I don’t. You really don’t want me to. Maybe one day she’ll let me play the tambourine or something…

PS: And don’t forget that The Taming of a Wild Child is out in March! No waiting for Lorelei’s story!

Have I mentioned that I’m one of the launch authors for the brand-new Harlequin KISS line? Well, I am! KISS is tailor-made for me and my books: flirty, modern alpha heroes, strong, sassy heroines, and fun, sizzling stories.
In February, I’ll be helping to launch the line with The Downfall of a Good Girl, followed immediately in March with The Taming of a Wild Child. These books feature the LaBlanc sisters, Vivi and Lorelei, and are set in one of my favorite places on earth: New Orleans.
Stay tuned for cover reveals, contests, excerpts and details about The Really Cool (Secret) Project — all coming soon! Edited 10/30/12: And here’s the cover! Isn’t it pretty?!
Edited 11/6/12: Covers and excerpts on the book pages! Downfall Taming
I’m going to be busy the next couple of weeks finishing up my fall 2013 KISS release. Marnie’s story will be the 4th book in a continuity with Aimee Carson, Amy Andrews and Heidi Rice. It’s been so much fun working with them on this project, and the books are going to be awesome!
I’ll leave you with a picture of Cupid risking her life to abscond with one of my beloved (and warm) frog feet slippers.
Frog was rescued successfully, so Cupid still lives. She was not the least bit ashamed of her assassination attempt.

I now have a friend to keep me company in my office. Her name is Cupid (she came with the name, but I think it’s appropriate for a romance writer to have a dog named Cupid.).
She’s a bit shy and unsure at the moment, but she really is a sweet girl. And she’s taken to sleeping under the printer desk in my office, right behind my chair.
(oops, why is that picture sideways? I’ll have to ask the Geek how to fix…) Since she likes it under there, I need to put down a blanket or something for her, but I can’t keep her out of there long enough to do it.
I’m sure there will be many updates and photos of her on my Facebook page in the future. 🙂
If you’re looking for a pet, remember to check your local shelters. Lots of love just waiting there. (I also like PetFinder.com.)
And many thanks to the Greater Huntsville Humane Society for letting Cupid come home with me.

I’m a Southern Girl, born and bred, but it hit 100+ way too early this summer and stayed there far too long. Even this Steel Magnolia is wilting in the heat. (I like my really steamy heat in books, thankyouverymuch.)
July is RWA conference month — I give it its own month because it takes so long for me to prepare for it (oh, the wardrobe decisions!). The festivities kick off in Anaheim, CA on July 25th with the Literacy For Life book signing. Over 400 authors will be signing at the Anaheim Convention Center and every last cent goes to ProLiteracy Worldwide and local literacy programs. The publishers donate the books, so the full sale price of the book is donated — not just a portion of the profits. Since 1990, RWA has raised over $716,000 through this annual event. I hope you’ll join us there!
2012 “Readers for Life” Literacy Autographing
Wednesday, July 25, 5:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Anaheim Convention Center, Ballroom (third floor)
Proceeds from book sales go to ProLiteracy Worldwide, Read Orange County, and Literacy Volunteers—Huntington Valley.
No outside books are allowed in the event.
Try to stay cool, y’all!
