I’m so thrilled that Barbara Vey has asked me to be a part of her first Readers’ Luncheon. Barbara is a huge advocate for the genre and a really neat lady.

This luncheon sounds like it’s going to be awesome, and I hope if you’re in the Milwaukee area, you’ll be able to attend on Tuesday, April 10.

Full details are here.

I’m giving away five copies of The Power and the Glory over on Goodreads:

New photos
Monday, October 3rd, 2011

I’m very excited that I had new headshots made.  I’m slowly updating the site with the new photos. Tell me which ones you like best!

And this one was just for fun… this is what romance novelists really *should* look like, right?

In the middle…

of a lot of things.  Funny how everything seems to happen all at once, right?

I’m very excited to say that the last book in the Marshall series has a title!  Finn’s story is Redemption of a Hollywood Starlet and will be out in the UK in April and the US in the summer (hopefully June, but that’s still TBD).

Of course that means that I’m diving into the new book, which I’m not quite ready to talk much about (because I’ll jinx it, I just know it), but I’m really excited. It’s set in one of my favorite places on earth, New Orleans! Laissez les bon temps roulez, y’all!! (And yes, there will be a trip to New Orleans for gumbo and beignets, all in the name of research, of course!)

The New Voices competition is heating up over on the Mills and Boon Romance Is Not Dead site. I know there are a lot of nervous writers with their hearts and souls posted there, and I both applaud them for their courage and wish them all the best of luck.  The nice folks over at M&B Romance HQ have made an ebook full of advice from the editors (and a few writers) to help and encourage aspiring authors. It’s a free download (in ePub format). Click HERE and scroll down to the bottom of the page.

And stay tuned y’all… I got some new headshots (finally!) and they’ll be posted soon.

The Power and the Glory
Tuesday, August 30th, 2011

Oh, squee! I have covers for The Power and the Glory!

UK cover The Power and the Glory

November 2011 (UK)

December 2011 (US)

And here’s the blurb:

The Marshalls

A rich, powerful family that mixes business, politics…and pleasure.

If the US had a royal familythis would be it!

Any red-blooded woman would kill to be handcuffed to political hot-shot Brady Marshall, but campaigner Aspyn Breedlove wants to raise awarenessnot her own acute consciousness of those delicious, iron-hard muscles beneath Brady’s expensive suit…

Overnight she’s an internet sensation, and in a shock move she’s made part of the Marshall re-election campaign… Aspyn hopes she can dance with the devil and create change from within. But what chances does she have when that devil is sex-on-legs Brady Marshalland she wants to do considerably more than dance with him…?

The Power and the Glory will be out in the UK in November and the US in December.  I adore Brady and Aspyn and can’t wait for you to meet them!

A great quote
Monday, August 22nd, 2011

WonderMom found this on the Story People website and I totally love it.  I’d actually love to have it printed in the front of all my books:

The people in this book, if at one time real, are now entirely fictitious, having been subjected to a combination of a selective memory and a fertile imagination. Any resemblance to real people you might know, even if they are the author’s relatives, is entirely coincidental, and is a reminder that you are imagining the incidents in this book as much as the author. (By the way, the “she” is not who you think it is, etither. So, give it up…) ~Brian Andreas

THIS.

So, yes, my dear friends who know me in real life, you may be able to “hear” me in my books, but that doesn’t mean that it really happened that way (if it even happened at all)…

BTW, I love the Story People prints and have two hanging in my office: Leaves of Music and Quiet Pride.  Both were gifts from WonderMom.

I’m back! (and other news)
Monday, July 11th, 2011

After a fabulous and fantastic trip to New York!  Technically, I was there for the RWA conference, which was amazing, as always, but the family (Darling Geek, Amazing Child and WonderMom) joined me there after the conference ended and we did some sightseeing, caught a Broadway show, and ate our way through some of the best food NY had to offer. Pictures will be forthcoming on Facebook just as soon as I find the cable to my camera…

I’m very excited to say that RT Bookreviews gave The Privileged and the Damned four stars and had this lovely nugget:  “Filled with tender moments, a unique heroine, and plenty of sexual tension, this novel will keep readers entertained.”  Squee!  (It’s available now on the eHarlequin site and will be everywhere in another couple of weeks.)

I have to go head down and full speed ahead on Finn’s book… but he’s got charm, so it’s not the worst way to spend the day!

I’m blushing, y’all
Monday, June 13th, 2011

I’m feeling some love, and it’s making me blush (and happy dance and squee!)!

What Happens In Vegas… just won the HOLT Medallion for Short Contemporary.  I’m way honored!

And keep those fingers crossed, because Magnate’s Mistress…Accidentally Pregnant! is a finalist in the More than Magic contest!

See why I’m blushing?

The cutest trophy ever!
Monday, May 23rd, 2011

The award for cutest trophy ever definitely goes to NEC RWA.  Their Reader’s Choice trophy for their Bean Pot competition is a tiny bean pot.

Is that not the cutest thing?
